Peter Gersten, CAUS (Citizens Against UFO Secrecy)
Citizens Against UFO Secrecy (CAUS) in the early 80s, was an organization known principally, if not solely, for being the plaintiff in two actions under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA.) The first, a lawsuit against the National Security Agency (NSA) for approximately 135 UFO related documents* and a second lawsuit** against the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for 57 documents withheld pursuant to a previous court decision.
From 1987-1998 CAUS has survived solely on the heroic efforts of Barry Greenwood, former editor and publisher of 'Just Cause;' Larry Fawcett, former deputy director and co-author with Greenwood of 'The UFO Cover-UP' (formerly 'Clear Intent); and Larry W. Bryant, a man unequalled in his determination and enthusiasm for the truth.
In January 1998, Peter A. Gersten, the attorney representing CAUS in its prior lawsuits, resumed his position as director, a position he held when CAUS was founded by him, W.T. Zechel and Brad Sparks in the late 70s.
